Lighting tut- using one light to improve your shots
In an attempt to deal directly with light within a photograph, students will take a chair portrait. Actually 3 chair portraits.
Students will choose one chair from home and take 3 different pictures of it using 3 different lighting configurations.
One could be during the day with just ambient light from a window. One could be at night with existing articifal light. And then one could be lights set up specifically to accentuate the chair. This is just the bare minimum of the assignment though. Students are welcome to choose a chair that they can take to different locations or different situations.
The important thing is to pay attention to the light while taking these photos. The final part of this assignment is to choose the best picture of the three and answer the following questions. Students need to upload all three as a blog entry, but with in that blog entry they need to answer the following questions on their best chair portrait.
